Feeling Irish

There is nothing better than feeling Irish around this time of the year. St Patrick's Day makes the whole world feel a certain level of Irishness. But when I think of being Irish, I tend to go back a bit in time. Before recessions and laptops and mobile phones, back when it was just us and our wonderful country.

Green grass, blue skies and thatched cottages.

Luckily, I live in a place that although is somewhat boring, is super pretty at the same time. Monasterevin is bursting with beautiful places to take pictures and to bring you back to the old feeling of being Irish. Our little town is surrounded by waterways, fields, farms, old distilleries, mansion houses, ruins, Georgian houses, woodlands, bogs and locks. Quite a lot for such a little place!

So over the past few days I have been out walking and enjoying these gorgeous sunny days with my camera and I present you with some pictures of my little town. This is what being Irish means to me.

Sunset

Hey everyone, this is a special blog post for me. Today whilst sitting in my kitchen watching the sun set, I was inspired to go and take some pictures. Today I experienced the first feeling of "If I don't take these pictures now, I'll regret it forever"! So I jumped into my flowery pumps, threw on my trench and raced agaisnt time (or so it felt!) ;) to capture some pictures of one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen.

A memory I have from when I was seven involved me sitting on a beach with my parents watching the sun set over the mountains in Majorca. I can still remember that sunset and the burnt oranges and reds it sent across the sky. I don't remember any other sunset like I did that one. But today's sunset I think I will always remember to. The purples and pinks it shot across the sky were just breathtaking.

Luckily this time, I had my own camera to capture the colours forever. I'm not lucky enough to own a professional camera but my 12mega pixel Samsung digital camera surely did a great job tonight! :)

I hope you enjoy them! xoxo
