Days like Yesterday

Change was in the air yesterday with the whole of Ireland anticipating who will win the General Election. But what excited me yesterday was been woken up to the biggest, brightest and bluest sky! Inspired by this lovely big sky I decided to get up and go for a stroll around my little town.

The Grand Canyon

At the end of 2009, a week after my 21st Birthday I jetted off to New York City & Las Vegas with that wonderful man of mine. ;) And whilst we were in Vegas, we went to the Grand Canyon. 


Possibly one of the most breath taking places in the world. 


We had decided to take the bus journey from Vegas so as to see some of America's landscape. This bus journey was six & a half hours in both directions. But my word, it was worth every second of it. We had decided to visit the South Rim, which was one of the largest parts of the canyon. But I remember getting off the tour bus and thinking where is it!? As we walked through a small patch of trees, I just felt my breath going. I guess after not initially seeing it I perceived it to be smaller than what it was always made out to be but there it was in all it's vastness and it's hugeness - the incredible Grand Canyon. 

Now as a short little girl, I always feel quite small in comparison to buildings etc but not even the huge sky scrapers in New York City made me feel so teeny. It was just amazing! I still find it hard to describe the experience of seeing the Grand Canyon, so I'll let some of my pictures say all those things I cant find words for. The following are some pictures I took on that amazing, incredible, once in a life time 21st birthday trip. You will also see some pictures from Hoover Dam, the Colorado River & Williams Arizona.


Personally I love the contrast between the trees and the red rock of the Canyon.

Happy Birthday Squidgy Moments!

Wow! When I looked at today's date I could hardly believe it! I have officially been a blogger one whole month and to be honest it feels like years! In my eyes this is a good thing because you know something is important to you when it feels like it's been around forever. That's how I am with this blog. It feels like it's been years I've been writing it! 


I have enjoyed every second of being a blogger & I thank you all for coming on this blogging adventure with me. It has been an incredible month (100 years!) 


I hope that the support I have been receiving will continue and I hope I will continue to entertain and inspire you or what ever it is that brings you back here to read and view my posts! Thank you! =)


Over the past while, I have begun to take a lot of pictures of absolutely everything that captures my eye and inspires me and I think my blog is beginning to shape up as a photography blog. But I will also share my stories, my adventures and my giggles along the way to. 


So again, thank you for all your kind words & thoughts and I look forward to sharing more of my (Squidgy) moments you with you!

Memories by the Sea

I'm definitely not a fan of dull, damp and cold weather and generally speaking I don't see any beauty really in it. But this weekend I was down the country by the sea & I saw the cold, foggy, damp Irish weather in a new light. This post is a collection of pictures, moments & memories I took as I enjoyed my time by the sea. Probably one of my favorite places to be - no matter where I am when I greet it. 


You will also see a little doggie in these pics - he was our friend for the day :)
