1970's Cheese!

These pictures are of my mammy's first camera circa 1970's. It's amazing to think we still have this camera in our house four decades later! I remember I used to play with it as a child!

Say cheeeeese! ;)

Feeling Irish

There is nothing better than feeling Irish around this time of the year. St Patrick's Day makes the whole world feel a certain level of Irishness. But when I think of being Irish, I tend to go back a bit in time. Before recessions and laptops and mobile phones, back when it was just us and our wonderful country.

Green grass, blue skies and thatched cottages.

Luckily, I live in a place that although is somewhat boring, is super pretty at the same time. Monasterevin is bursting with beautiful places to take pictures and to bring you back to the old feeling of being Irish. Our little town is surrounded by waterways, fields, farms, old distilleries, mansion houses, ruins, Georgian houses, woodlands, bogs and locks. Quite a lot for such a little place!

So over the past few days I have been out walking and enjoying these gorgeous sunny days with my camera and I present you with some pictures of my little town. This is what being Irish means to me.

Sunset

Hey everyone, this is a special blog post for me. Today whilst sitting in my kitchen watching the sun set, I was inspired to go and take some pictures. Today I experienced the first feeling of "If I don't take these pictures now, I'll regret it forever"! So I jumped into my flowery pumps, threw on my trench and raced agaisnt time (or so it felt!) ;) to capture some pictures of one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen.

A memory I have from when I was seven involved me sitting on a beach with my parents watching the sun set over the mountains in Majorca. I can still remember that sunset and the burnt oranges and reds it sent across the sky. I don't remember any other sunset like I did that one. But today's sunset I think I will always remember to. The purples and pinks it shot across the sky were just breathtaking.

Luckily this time, I had my own camera to capture the colours forever. I'm not lucky enough to own a professional camera but my 12mega pixel Samsung digital camera surely did a great job tonight! :)

I hope you enjoy them! xoxo

Vignette Flowers

I had to send my phone off for a couple of days and when I got it back I was so excited to be able to take some pictures with it again and to experiment with different effects. Luckily, we have a beautiful bouquet of flowers at home at the moment so they became my subject. The flowers in these photograph's will be quite contrast  - some photo's will show them in a very vibrant and bright light, whilst the others are more soft and pastel like.

The full collection can be found on my Flickr page.

I hope you enjoy them xoxo

Easter Chicks

My mam purchased some little Easter Cream Egg holders last week for charity. When I seen them I just couldn't help but take my camera out and take some pictures of them.

As a well known chocoholic among my family and friends, I love Easter. And at the wonderful age of 22, I still look forward to receiving way to many Easter eggs off my family. Some might find this bizarre, I find it amazing!

Isn't it great to think that something as small as an Easter egg can make someone super happy? (yes thats how much I love em!)

I believe...
Spread the love - spread the chocolate! ;)

But before Easter arrives and we get to enjoy all the yumminess it brings, here are my Easter Chick pictures & I hope you enjoy them to!

Cutesy Cupcakes

So when I came home from work on Tuesday with a delicious looking cupcake, my mam was quite surprised to hear why I had bought it. So yes it looked delicious, but I had bought it to take pictures of it because it was possibly the cutest cupcake I've seen. These pictures make me smile from ear to ear - they are just so damn cute!

I hope you like them xoxo

Spring is Here!

No one can deny that the weather these past few days has been amazing. Cloudless skies & perfect drives watching the sun rise in the mornings.

I am definately a huge fan of Spring & all the light and happiness it brings. Ireland has been a hard place for us all to be in these past few months but with this grogeous weather, doesnt it all seem that bit easier?
This is just a quick post to say that I personally, along with many of you I'm sure welcome Spring with big open arms. Spring brings a sense of positivity and joy - something we all need these days.

And it always makes me feel that something great may just be around the corner...

Happy 1st of March everyone, have a fabulous day! X
